New Delhi : About Ali Abbas Zafar, director of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, if it is said that Ali Abbas Zafar is the most brilliant action film writer and director of the time, then it would not be redundant because three blockbuster films of Hindi cinema are ‘Sultan’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. Director Ali Abbas Zafar, who has directed ‘Sultan’, has returned to the big screen after five years. Meanwhile, two more films directed by him ‘Jogi’ and ‘Bloody Daddy’ were released directly on OTT.

Ali Abbas Zafar’s new film ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ has something to do with the 1998 film of the same name, it is just that one of the missions of the film gets its name from the name of this film starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda. The occasion is of Eid. The elder’s name is Firoz alias Freddy. Chhota is Rakesh alias Rocky. And, he has a third friend, Kabir. Three hero films have been in trend in Hindi cinema for a long time. Now it is the turn of ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’. The biggest thing is that this film can be watched with the entire family. Ali Abbas Zafar has neither used a single abuse in the entire film nor exposed the heroines’ bodies anywhere. This is no less a big deal in today’s times!

The film ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ is a new milestone for Ali Abbas Zafar in the sense that in this he has presented his vision, his technical skills and his imagination on a platter to those who invest in Hindi cinema. . Although directors do not get much freedom in Vashu Bhagnani’s films, this film presents Ali Abbas Zafar as the new pioneer of special effects action Hindi cinema. The film itself begins with an action scene filmed on a very large scale.

The film is in no way less than Tom Cruise’s action films. Ali has kept the entire film full of action. Making such a big budget film with stars like Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, who have been flopping in the last half-dozen films at the box office, is a big challenge in itself. But, Ali has worked as a lifeline for both these stars.

Akshay Kumar’s image has been that of an action hero in Hindi cinema. He has made many efforts to break this image, but the truth is that he is still the best action hero in his age group. Akshay’s sudden punchline in the middle of action and shootout scenes suits his personality very well. In the midst of the fight going on under the tunnel, the elder saying to the younger that ‘Yes, look at your acting, how many people have died, only Akshay can know. Tiger Shroff has tried to open himself up a bit in this film. His expressions also seem to have changed. But, his action sequences still look repetitive. The pair of Akshay and Tiger have tried their best to carry the entire film on their shoulders. If only they had got proper helpers then the joy would have been different.

The most praiseworthy part of the film ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ is its action. Ali Abbas Zafar has proved his mastery in these scenes in the sense that he uses special effects in these scenes but does not let it be visible. There is freshness in the dialogues of the film. And, Akshay Kumar has delivered all the punch lines aimed at Tiger Shroff in the right manner. The editing of the film is quite tight. Steven Bernard has done his best to maintain the pace of the film from beginning to end. And, Marcin Laszkiewicz has created some nice angles in its cinematography. He is the master of cinematography of the day. However, his camera did not perform that well at night.

Ali Abbas Zafar also tries the same here with his writing team. The story is of two spoiled soldiers. There is a lot of difference in the age of both but their rank is the same. The story starts in the present where an arms dealer has looted a secret army package. It turns out that Freddy and Rocky are best suited to do this work. The story shows the two eight years ago eliminating a terrorist who the world had assumed was dead. Then a brief story from seven years ago comes to light which tells the past of his friend Kabir. The challenge of the present in the story moving back and forth is serious.

Going beyond the long talked about mechanical warriors for the army, the villain of the film has developed a new technology to create replicas of capable warriors. But, India is now a developed country. He has a technology ready by which any external attack can be foiled. Ali Abbas Zafar has given this story vacillating back and forth between technology versus technology into an action film in which humor also arises from the mutual banter between the two heroes.

Overall, this film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is a great Must-Watch Action Comedy Extravaganza which you can watch with the whole family. That’s why this film gets stars.
