After the cracks in Joshimath now water source has erupted on Badrinath Highway

Even before the commencement of the Chardham Yatra, the tension of the villagers in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand has increased once again. After cracks in houses and buildings in Joshimath, now water sources have started bursting. On Sunday morning near Bhus Wadiyar on the Badrinath National Highway, fear has once again increased among the people due to sudden bursting of water sources.

It is worth mentioning that even before this, on January 3, a big water spring had erupted in the premises of Jaypee Electricity Company, which recovered after a long time. The villagers were in panic due to continuous water leakage. There was chaos among the people for more than three hours due to sudden heavy water in the Badrinath Narsingh Mandir National Highway passing through Joshimath town in the morning.

SDM also reached the spot and took stock of the situation. After investigation, the SDM said that the road here was badly damaged. The movement of heavy vehicles has been banned due to continuous road subsidence. Told that in view of the security, the movement of big vehicles will be done from the main market, while the light vehicles will continue to ply here under the supervision of the police.

Deputy District Magistrate of Joshimath, Kumkum Joshi said that at around 12.30 pm, some water tanks of Jal Sansthan were closed, after which the leakage of water has stopped. He said that this water source had erupted probably due to leakage of some tank or water line of the Jal Sansthan.

About 10 more big cracks are reported on the Badrinath National Highway near Joshimath. The highway connects to the religious town of Badrinath, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the Garhwal Himalayas. New cracks have appeared at at least 10 places on the Badrinath Highway near Joshimath.

After houses and fields, now the cracks in Badrinath National Highway are increasing day by day. Along with the cracks in the road, heavy potholes have also started happening for a few days. In some places of the city, the Badrinath Highway has also started sinking lightly. The cracks have raised concerns ahead of the commencement of the Chardham Yatra. The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand is starting from 22 April. The doors of Kedarnath Dham, the eleventh Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, will be opened on April 25 at 6.20 am in Aries ascendant. Whereas, the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on 27 April. The portals of Gangotri-Yamunotri will open for pilgrims on April 22.
