This Festival will go on for the entire month of September starting from 1st Sept till 30 Sept 2013.  August Moon also known as Mid-Autumn Festival and Moon Festival is a popular harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese people. The festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar, during a full moon, which is in September or early October in the Gregorian calendar. As per this year`s calendar it will fall on 19thSeptember 2013. This festival is celebrated in China, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Macau, Korea, Philippines and Taiwan. August Moon is a time to enjoy the successful reaping of rice and wheat with food offerings made in honor of the moon. It is marked as an occasion for outdoor reunions among friends and relatives and also a symbol of harmony and unity. Making and sharing Mooncakes is one of the hallmark traditions of this festival. In Chinese culture, a round shape symbolizes completeness and unity.  Year 2013 is the Year of the Water Snake; it is believed that those born under the sign of the Water Snake are financially lucky as money will most likely flow their way, like flowing water. In Hong Kong and Macau, the day after the Mid-Autumn Festival is a public holiday rather than the festival date itself Keeping in mind the tradition of the Chinese we will be serving a vast variety of authentic Chinese cuisine promoting the festivalsays “Gaurav Taneja, General Manager Park Plaza Chandigarh”.
