Atal tinkering lab will soon in all NDMC schools
“NDMC make all efforts to develop an eco-system for creating an environment to encourage the creativity with intelligence of students in the field of science as well as humanities subjects in its schools. NDMC schools have 10 Atal Tinkering Labs at present and it will be provided in all NDMC schools as a dedicated space for innovative ideas transforming into the creativity by students.”
This was remarked by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairman, Shri Dharmendra while speaking after inaugurating the 4-Days NDMC and Navyug Schools Science Fair on the theme of “Science and Technology for Sustainable Development” at Atal Adarsh Vidyalay (Prathmik), Lodhi Road in New Delhi today.
While addressing the students, teachers and other officials, NDMC Chairman, Shri Dharmendra said that I am really impressed with Annual Science Fair and various model prepared and explained by the students. He further said that the level of projects / models made by the students are above their age and class and shows their interest and learning. Students are reflecting the solution of society problem in their exhibits for Solar Energy, Smart Farming and other aspect of day to day life, he added.
On the occasion in his welcome address, Director (Education), NDMC Shri R.P.Gupta said that this Science Fair is continuously being organized by NDMC since last 40 years but we added the other government, private and public schools participation in this Science Fair from last two years. This year St.Thomas, St.Columbas, Modern School, Barakhamba Road, Hamdard Public School and other Aided School are participating in the exhibition.
He further said that the main objective of Science Fair was to provide a platform to the students who showcase their imagination and creativity through various exhibits. Over 200 students and 100 teachers from the 50 NDMC, Navyug, Aided Schools, Public School, Kendriya Vidyalay and Delhi Government Schools of NDMC area have been participating in this science exhibition.
As many as 140 exhibit models have been displayed in sub-themes like Sustainable Agriculture Practice, Industrial Development, Resource Management and Future Transport and Commutation. Apart from the exhibition, other activities like poster making, Science Quiz, Science debate, Yoga performance were also the part of fair.
