Mumbai : The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $23 million loan to expand access to fintech education, research and innovation in the Gujarat International Finance Tech-City (GIFT). The project involves the establishment of an International Fintech Institute (IFI) within GIFT City.
This IFI will provide fintech training programs in line with industry and international standards. An economist at ADB said the ADB loan will help advance the country’s fintech education to ensure that digital and financial services are more affordable and accessible in the future.
He said the growth of India’s financial technology industry has changed the way people do business, contributed to economic growth and prepared the country for the future.
