Aryans Group of Colleges organized annual cultural extravaganza “Roshaan. Enlightening the world” at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16, Chandigarh today. Dr Jamshid Ali Khan, Dean, College Development Council, Punjabi Universiy, Patiala was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mrs Savita Bhatti, CEO, Mad Arts, Jaspal Bhatti Film School, was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the function. Students of B.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Ed & Polytechnic of Aryans Group participated in the colourful cultural items. The function commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony by Dr Jamshid Ali Khan followed by Devotional Ganesh Vandana by Faaiz & Group. In his inaugural speech, Dr Khan said that such events are necessary in the professional institutions as they instill confidence and sense of responsibility in the students. Academics and Cultural activities always go side by side. Cultural activities play important role in order to reduce the stress of the students, he added. Dr. Anshu Kataria said that besides studies, extra co-curricular activities are equally important. They help in the overall development of the students. He added that students of Aryans Group presented a colourful cultural programme which included bhangra, giddha, group dances, western dance, Punjabi dance, fusion, skits, mime, Bollywood Style, folk dance, solo songs, solo dance, etc. Many students were honoured for their achievements in academics, sports, cultural & extracurricular activities. It is to be mentioned that various cultural activities were performed by students like Comedy Dance performed by Hanan and group while Kamini & Group presented Rajasthani folk. Girls Bhangra under the leadership of Manbir enthralled the audience, Singham Act by Zeenat and group, Last blast by Faaiz and Avneet brought the audience onto their heels. Mime dance presented by Waseem and Group, was the centre of attraction. On the other hand, Trio dance by Hemant, Pooja and Avneet, Boys Bhangra by Harmeet & group, Fusion by Hemant and Jyoti, comedy fusion by Faaiz & group, Assamese folk dance by Praveen & Group brought the audience to their toes. The audience enjoyed allot the Punjabi dance “Peepni Baja ke” presented by Gurjit & Group and “Manak Punjab Diyan” which was performed by Jyoti and Gurpreet. Also present on the occasion were Prof. D. C.
