Appreciate his positive attitude towards expanding economic cooperation to Argentina
Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with the President of Argentina Alberto Fernandez. They discussed the possibility of bilateral cooperation in defense and nuclear energy along with ambitious measures to strengthen and make trade ties between the two countries.
Jaishankar, who arrived here on Thursday on the last leg of his first official visit to three Latin American countries, also met Economy Minister Sergio Massa and exchanged views on economic cooperation. Jaishankar tweeted during this time and wrote that it was a pleasure to meet the Argentine Economy Minister Sergiomasa. Appreciate his positive approach towards expanding our economic cooperation.
After meeting Argentine President Fernandez, Dr Jaishankar said that thank you to the President for receiving me. Jaishankar said the Argentine President discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, including making trade levels more sustainable and ambitious. They also exchanged views on energy and food security. He underlined the importance of affordable healthcare, including pharmaceuticals. The two leaders also exchanged views on defense cooperation as well as the possibilities of nuclear energy. This is Jaishankar’s first official visit to South America. PLC/GT
