An appeal to the US consulate to increase the security for Punjabi Community in US

Atrocities inflicted on Sikhs in Wisconsin’s Gurudwara has invited the discontent of the Indian Sikhs. To show their disapproval for the incident and to pay homage to the innocents killed in the massacre Gurpreet Kaur Chadha, Founder of Punjabi Global Foundation organised a Condolence meeting in 4 bungalows Gurudwara of Andheri.

Few minutes of Silence was observed, prayers made, followed by an appeal made by the Punjabi Global Foundation to the US consulate. The appeal read unhappiness of the Indian Sikhs over the insecure living condition for the Sikh community in US who are one of the major contributors of the US economy.

“This Sunday’s attack on a Sikh Gurudwara in Wisconsin has once again brought to light the regularity of such tragic incidents. Such a violent act at a place of worship makes it even more horrible. We, therefore, make an earnest appeal to the Authorities to find ways and means to reduce this senseless violence perpetrated by disillusioned individuals. The Sikh Community has been targeted since 9/11 and it is totally unacceptable. We appeal for increased security to the Sikh Community at the Gurudwara,” said Gurpreet Kaur Chadha.

To show their support towards this move taken by Gurpreet Kaur Chadha and Punjabi Global Foundation, present for the evening were Actor Vindu Dara Singh, Comedian Raju Shrivastav, Comedy circus’s Tabla maestro Surinder, TV actress Dolly Bindra, TV actress Amita Nangia, TV actor Sharad Malhotra and TV actor Abhishek Awasthi. The celebs to show their discontent signed the appeal board which will be handed to the US consulate.

For the peace of the souls that were brutally killed in the shooting Shabad Kirtan was organised. The move not only garnered support from Sikh Community but people of different community came forward and lit the candles in support of the move and to show their respect to the innocents who were killed.
