The United States will give war-torn Ukraine $1.8 billion in aid that will include for the first time a Patriot missile battery and precision-guided munitions for its fighter jets. American officials informed about this. This assistance is being given at a time when the Biden administration is ready to welcome Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi encouraged lawmakers to be present for Wednesday evening’s session. US officials provided information on new aid to Ukraine on the condition of confidentiality. The aid indicates that the US has decided to send that sophisticated weapon as part of an exercise to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense system to fend off Russian missile attacks.
Officials said that this aid package is expected to be announced on Wednesday.

Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials have appealed to Western leaders to provide more modern weapons, including the Patriot, to help it in its war with Russia. The Patriot will be the most advanced surface-to-air missile system Ukraine will receive from the West. PLC/GT
