The US has removed the restriction, under which passengers arriving in the US by international flight were required to undergo a Covid-19 test a day before the flight.

A senior Biden administration official said the mandate was ending and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CSDS) decided it was no longer needed.

An official, speaking on condition of anonymity regarding the preview of the formal announcement, said the agency would re-evaluate the testing requirement every 90 days. The official said that if a new variant of Covid-19, which is causing the problem, comes to the fore, then this investigation can be reinstated. PLC/GT
