Amarnath Yatra 2023: Insurance cover of 5 lakhs for Yatris, air service will be available during the night

New Delhi   – : This time some new dimensions are going to be added to the Amarnath Yatra which is going to start from next month. These include an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh for each passenger and providing air service from Srinagar and Jammu in the night. Apart from this, elaborate security preparations have been made during the Amarnath Yatra. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also given instructions to make elaborate security arrangements from ground to sky during the Amarnath Yatra. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting to review in detail the security preparations being made for the two-month-long yatra. During the meeting, it was said that it is the priority of the Modi government that Amarnath pilgrims should have easy darshan and they should not face any problem. During the review, Shah has given instructions to make adequate security arrangements on the yatra route so that any accident can be prevented from happening.

During this, Shah reviewed the preparations for the Amarnath Yatra with top officials of the Central Government, Army and Jammu and Kashmir administration. The 62-day annual pilgrimage to the holy cave of Amarnath, located at an altitude of 3,880 meters in the South Kashmir Himalayas, to visit Baba Barfani will begin from July 1 and continue till August 31. Significantly, the pilgrims travel through two routes in Jammu and Kashmir, Baltal and Pahalgam. It was informed in the meeting that all the pilgrims will be given RFID cards so that their real time location can be traced and all will be given an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh. An insurance cover of Rs 50,000 will be given for each animal carrying the pilgrims.

Amit Shah stressed on making smooth arrangements on the route from airport and railway station to the pilgrimage base camp for the convenience of the pilgrims and also directed to provide night air service from Srinagar and Jammu. During the meeting, the Home Minister asked for ensuring adequate stock of oxygen cylinders and their refilling and availability of additional teams of doctors. He directed to ensure deployment of adequate number of ambulances and helicopters to deal with any medical emergency. Instructions have been given to make proper arrangements for all necessary facilities including travel, stay, electricity, water, communication and health for the pilgrims.

Any kind of non-vegetarian food will be completely banned during the yatra. At the same time, liquor, tobacco, gutkha, pan masala, smoking etc. have been banned. Apart from this, you will not be able to get the taste of Puri Bhatura, Pizza, Burger, Stuffed Paratha, Dosa, Fried Roti, Bread with butter, Cream based food, Pickle, Chutney, Fried Papad, Chowmein and other types of fried and fast food etc. . Carrying food items like Deep Fried, Halwa, Jalebi, Gulab Jamun, Laddu Khoya Barfi, Rasgulla will also be prohibited.
