Amarinder should order CBI inquiry into Matric Result Fraud: Tarun Chugh
The BJP has urged Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to order CBI probe into Matric Result Fraud pertaining to Punjab School Education Board.
Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the BJP, said that an RTI expose has revealed that Results of Matric during the year 2018 & 2019 were fudged to improve the percentage of results and to show ‘good performance’ of the department just to gain some political brownie points.
Chugh said that the former Education Minister cannot be ignorant in what was happening under their command. He said it has been revealed that 46.29 percent of the students cleared Matric exams in 2018 which was afterwards raised to 62.10 percent to project ‘improved performance’ while the same was repeated in 2019 exams 76.49 percent students cleared the exams but the figures were again fudged to project it as ‘excellent improvement in results’ with 85.56 pass percentage.
The BJP leader alleged that the former education minister just to save his politically and financially beneficial department under the ‘moderation policy’ didn’t even hesitate to put the future of the children at stake.
Chugh asked if the pass percentage in 2019 had already improved to 76.49 percent what was the need to fudge it further to project it as 86.56 percent.
“The Chief Minister is selective about analyzing the performance of his ministers and it is strange that he has maintained a stoic silence over this highly sensitive issue of a fraud played with the students and the state. Capt Amarinder’s silence on the issue means that all this done with his prior approval,” said Chugh adding that charges of corruption in school dresses were also willingly ignored by the Chief Minister.
Slamming Amarinder for shunning his responsibility of Chief Minister, Chugh urged him to come clean on the issue and order CBI probe into the fraud played on the people of the state.
