Defence Minister Shri AK Antony will inaugurate a two-day International Seminar and Exposition Defcom India-2012 here tomorrow. Defcom-2012 is being organized by the Corps of Signals in association with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).. Indian Industry, Academia, Luminaries from R&D Organisations and defence officers will congregate to discuss technological challenges and suitable solutions meeting Defence Forces Communication requirements. The objective of the seminar is to provide the participants the understanding of the growth in infrastructure as a consequence of transformation towards Net Centricity, discuss future IT and make informed choices to realize these. The theme of Defcom-2012 – “Tactical Communication Systems : ICTEC challenges and opportunities” has been selected in line with the vision of Indian Army towards Net centric force. The seminar will comprise of three technical sessions, one HR session and two workshop sessions.
