Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that agriculture plays vital role in the economy of the country and the State. The State Government is committed for the welfare of the farmers. In the last three years our government has taken many decisions and implemented many important schemes for the prosperity of the farmers, he said.
Shri Gehlot was addressing the gathering on the occasion of taking over the charge by Rajasthan Kisan Aayog chairman Shri Mahadev Singh Khandela and vice-chairman Shri Deep Chand Khairiya at Pant Krishi Bhawan on Wednesday. The Chief Minister congratulated both of them and said that the State Government would be able to make better decisions for the reforms in the agriculture sector based on the advice given by the Commission for the progress of farmers.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is bringing a separate Agriculture Budget in the State to increase the income of the farmers and to strengthen them. The work is also on to make a separate Power Company for the farmers. He said that various concessions are being given through a new policy to the farmers to get a fair price for their produce and to promote food processing. Mukhyamantri Dugdh Utpadak Sambal Yojana (Chief Minister Milk Producer Support Scheme) was implemented to provide relief to the cattle rearers.
Shri Gehlot said that the Rights based era started in the country at the time of the UPA Government. People got the Right to Information, the Right to Education and the Right to Employment through MGNREGA. The employment concerns of people have been removed through MGNREGA. He said that the State Government has taken revolutionary steps such as opening Mahatma Gandhi English School to provide education in English medium to the children from the poor section of the society.
In the beginning Agriculture Minister Shri Lalchand Kataria welcoming the Chief Minister and other guests expressed gratitude to Shri Gehlot for appointing chairman and vice-chairman in Kisan Aayog. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Shri Tikaram Jully, MLAs and other public representatives and agriculture department officers were present on this occasion.
