New Delhi  – : India successfully test-fired the new generation ballistic missile Agni Prime from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast. The test was conducted by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). During the flight test, this missile stood on all parameters.

This was the first night trial of the Agni Prime before it was inducted into the armed forces after three successful trials, officials said. The two ships were deployed with horizontal ranging equipment such as radar, telemetry and electro-optical tracking systems at various locations to capture the flight data of the missile.

DRDO gave information about the successful test of Agni Prime on a tweet. He tweeted – The first pre-induction night launch of the new generation ballistic missile Agni Prime was successfully conducted off the coast of Odisha on June 7.

Top officials of the DRDO and the Strategic Forces Command were also present during the successful test-firing of the Agni Prime, which paved the way for the missile’s induction into the armed forces. After the successful test of the missile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the DRDO and the armed forces.
