The Army Postal Service since its inception in 1856 is playing an important role amongst the troops to meet their postal and financial remittance requirements. The services offered by the Department of Posts are further extended by the Army Postal Service to troops and in series of such postal services, a new service “Debit Army Post Logistics” has been launched all over India in all field post offices of the Army Postal Service today. Under this service, official packages upto 10 Kgs can be sent from one Army Unit to the other anywhere in India. Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra, the Western Army Commander inaugurated the new service at the Field Post Office in Military Station Chandimandir today. On this occasion, senior officers of Headquarters Western Command and Local Units were also present.
