Seven feet long panther who came from forest in search of prey found dead on pinjore-nalagarh national highway in the middle of the road on tuesday night. The panther was injured by the unknown vehicle. The PCR vehicle spotted panther lying in the middle of the road. One leg of the panther was disable and one other leg has multiple fractures. The veterinary doctors conducted the postmortem and the animal buried in the premises of veterinary hospital in pinjore. Panic gripped among the residents of pinjore as the news spread in the locality. According to information given by SI Mohinder Singh, he said that he along with his team was on night patrolling on pinjore –nalagarh road and they went till village-lohgarh at 12:30am but when at 1:30am they returned back they were shocked to see the panther lying in the middle of the road near shori hospital. He further said the driver of the PCR vehicle blowed the horn for fifteen minutes in doubt that the panther must be sleeping on the road. But when they drove the vehicle near the panther they saw pool of blood on the road. He immediately informed the officials of wildlife department in pinjore and within minutes forest officer Rakesh Kumar, Forest veterinary Dr. Anil Kumar along with forest team and police force rushed to the spot and started investigation. The wild life team took the panther to forest veterinary department. In the morning the team of veterinary doctors in the presence of wildlife officials along with the police conducted the postmortem of panther before the panther was buried in the premises of department.  District Forest officer Rakesh Kumar said that the panther might came in search of his prey in the night from the forest area as his favourite food is dog. He also said that the one leg of the panther was disable and when the panther was crossing the road it came in contact of unidentified vehicle. Due to accident the face of the panther was badly smashed. He further stated that PCR officials spotted the animal and the report was sent to the department. While speaking to INVC, Dr. Anil Kumar said that he conducted the postmortem of two and half year old male panther which was found dead in the middle of the road. He also confirmed that the face of the panther was smashed by the vehicle and the animal was disable by one leg. He further said that one other leg of the panther was fractured in the incident and the panther died due to excess flow of blood from his body.
