One of the most awaited Hollywood films ‘Avatar 2’ is all set to hit the theaters at the end of the year. Fans have been waiting for this film for a long time. In the second part, the audience will get to travel to a different world. Meanwhile, the film’s producer James Cameron has said that he will closely watch the box office results of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ and prepare for the third part accordingly.

According to media reports, James Cameron has said that the next installment of the ‘Avatar’ film franchise will depend on the performance of the upcoming sequel. During an interview, Cameron said, ‘Complete the story of the film in three parts or make a franchise, it will depend on the box office performance of the upcoming sequel. We are in a different world now than when I wrote this film. A lot has changed with the pandemic and OTT streaming and perhaps we have to remind people what it is like to go to the theatre. This film certainly does that. The question is, how many people watch it now?

The filmmaker had earlier this year expressed doubts about directing the fourth and fifth installments as he has other projects that interest him as well. “I also have a few other things that I’m developing, which are exciting,” he said. I don’t know if it’s after three or after four, I’d like to pass the baton to a director who I can trust to handle the franchise. And I can do a few other things I’m interested in. Or it might not be so. I don’t know anything about this yet. Let us tell you that ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is set to hit the theaters on December 16. PLC/GT
