Webchat on the U.S. – Indonesia Science and Technology Partnership

The U.S. Department of State will host an interactive webchat entitled, ”Live from the Seafloor: A Dynamic Look at the U.S.-Indonesia Science and Technology Partnership” on January 7, 2011 at 3:00 GMT. The webchat will highlight the historic U.S. – Indonesia joint ocean expedition undertaken in the Indonesian portion of the Coral Triangle in the summer of 2010.

The webchat will feature a live Q&A and panel discussion with five U.S. and Indonesian dignitaries. Three will participate in Washington: U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) Administrator Dr. Jane Lubchenco; U.S. Science Envoy Dr. Bruce Alberts, professor emeritus at the University of California and editor-in-chief of Science magazine; and Indonesian Ambassador to the United States Dr. Dino Patti Djalal. In Jakarta, U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia Scot Marciel and Indonesian Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Fadel Muhammed will also join this discussion.
