Bhopal : Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, made significant strides during his visit to his home city and the divine city of Mahakal, Ujjain. His commitment to developmental initiatives manifested in the inauguration and commencement of about 187 projects, collectively worth approximately 218 crores. Dr. Mohan Yadav pledged an unwavering dedication to the continuous progression of Madhya Pradesh, ensuring no compromise in these endeavors.

In a bold move towards public welfare, Dr. Yadav issued stringent directives to cease the open sale of meat and fish in the state upon assuming office on December 14th. Within a staggering 25 days, an impressive 25,000 such establishments faced closure, putting an end to the unrestricted sale of meat in public spaces.

Women’s Empowerment Through Festivals

Discussing the upcoming Makar Sankranti during his visit to Ujjain, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav revealed plans to celebrate this festival as Women’s Empowerment Day. Drawing from Hindu beliefs, he emphasized that Lord Krishna learned 64 arts in Ujjain, the very city renowned as the abode of Mahakal. According to Hindu traditions, it was in Ujjain that Lord Krishna mastered 64 arts, encompassing music and dance within a mere span of 64 days.

The Chief Minister underlined Ujjain’s historical and mythological importance, highlighting the city’s role as the starting point for Princess Sanghamitra and Prince Mahendra’s journey to spread the teachings of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
