216 ayurvedic doctors appointed during last three years : Health Minister

INVC,, Shimla,, Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Health Minister said that 216 doctors had been appointed in Ayurveda department during last three years. He said that 82 doctors were recruited through H.P. Public Service Commission and remaining 134 doctors were appointed batch-wise. Presiding over the review meeting of Ayruveda Department here today, Dr. Bindal said that the Department should work with dedication and earnestly to accelerate the pace of development in the Ayurveda sector. He said that 1st ever Ayurveda Pharmacy College of North India had been made operational at Jogindernagar in October last year. He said that the construction of hostel at Jogindernagar was also in progress. He said that the Government has sanctioned 340 posts of Ayurveda doctors since 2008, wherein the process to fill up 164 posts of ayurveda doctors through HPPSC was continue besides 166 doctors would be recruited batch-wise. He said that necessary arrangements had been made for opening of Centre of Excellence in Geriatric Health Care at Paprola. He said that foundation stone of 'Nagarjun Pathashala', to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 64 lakh, would be laid soon. He said that process of opening of Ayurveda University was in progress and the matter would soon be placed before the Cabinet for approval. He said that Panchkarama system of ayurveda had been started in 16 ayurveda institutions in the State and the same would soon be started in nine other places. Present among others in the meeting were Smt. Nisha Singh, Secretary, Ayurveda and senior officers of Ayruveda Department.
