15 COUPLES MARRY AT NIRANKARIINVC,
Chandigarh,
Shri Mohinder Singh, Sanyojak of Chandigarh Branch has informed that 15 couples tied their nuptial knot at a mass marriage ceremony organized by the Social Welfare Department of the Sant Nirankari Mission Delhi today. The mass marriages were organized in a simple ceremony held at Samagam Ground, while His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji and Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji blessed the couples, hundreds of devotees including the parents, friends and relatives of the brides and bridegrooms, attended the ceremony. Among the bridegrooms, 12 belonged to Delhi while 2 came from Uttar Pradesh and one from Haryana. Among brides, 7 came from Delhi, 3 from Uttar Pradesh and two each from Haryana and Uttarakhand. One bride came all the way from Mumbai. Eleven couples, their parents, friends and relatives took their lunch from Langar arranged by the Sant Nirankari Mandal.
The simple ceremony was marked by the traditional Jaymala followed by a Common Garland for each couple – a special feature of a Nirankari wedding. Four Lawan were recited by singers with full spirit of devotion. After each of them, His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Nirankari Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji and Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji showered the flower-petals from the dais. The devotees also joined them in showering the flowers. Blessing newly-wed couples, His Holiness said that all the families are already connected with the Mission, enlightened with God-knowledge and following the path of Satsang (holy congregations), Sewa (selfless service) and Simran (remembrance of God). He advised the brides and bride-grooms also to follow the same. He said that we learn to live life based on human virtues like love, compassion, humility, tolerance, sweet language and broad-mindedness only in the company of saints. And these virtues are not only necessary for the newly-weds but their families also since ultimately everybody has to live as a part or unit of the family. Baba Ji said that if we adopt these virtues, every house will turn into a heaven.  Baba Ji reminded the couples of the Mission’s pledge that one should fulfill all the responsibilities towards the family and not become a burden on society. At the same time, however, they should continue to follow the path of devotion, he said. As a matter of fact if devotion comes first, all our social relations are bound to grow stronger and stronger.
