चेन्नई.    भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) ने इज़राईल की मदद से बनाए गए राडार इमेजिंग उपग्रह आरआईसेट-2 का प्रक्षेपण आज सुबह 6:45 बजे श्रीहरिकोटा के अंतरिक्ष केंद्र लांच किया है। इस उपग्रह के साथ माइक्रो उपग्रह अनुसेट को भी छोड़ा गया।

मिली जानकारी के मुताबिक़ अनुसेट भारत में शैक्षिक समुदाय द्वारा बनाया गया पहला उपग्रह है। इन दोनों उपग्रहों को पीएसएलवी-सी12 के माध्यम से सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र के दूसरे लॉन्च पैड से छोड़ा गया है। आरआईसेट-2 का वजन तीन सौ किलोग्राम है, जबकि अनुसेट 40 किलोग्राम वजनी है। दोनों उपग्रहों को पृथ्वी से 550 किमी ऊपर कक्षा में स्थापित करने का लक्ष्य है।

गौरतलब है कि क़रीब तीन सौ किलोग्राम का रिसैट रात और दिन में तस्वीरें खींचने में सक्षम है और यह हर मौसम में काम कर सकता है, जबकि अनुसेट 40 किलोग्राम के अनुसैट की मदद से भारत पाकिस्तान और अफ़गानिस्तान के पहाड़ी इलाक़ों पर नज़र रख सकेगा.
