Inaugurating the 5th day of the Children’s International Film Festival (ICFF-2012) organized under the aegis of City Montessori School, Lucknow, the Chief Guest and noted poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar said that the society is greatly in need of such festivals with noble aims because they lead to progress of social institutions and family unity. Mr. Akhtar opined that the youth today, which will prove to be the leaders of society in future, is greatly empowered by such character building functions. It is important that good moral virtues and values of life are propagated through films and mass media in these film festivals. Earlier, the Chief Guest, Mr. Javed Akhtar inaugurated the 5th day of ICFF-2012 by lighting the sacred lamp of learning at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium. It may be mentioned here that Films Division of City Montessori School has organized this 9-day International Children’s Film Festival from 10 to 18 April at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium for the character building and all round development of the students and youths during which the best educative children’s films of 36 countries are being screened without any charge. This International Film Festival is dedicated to the “World Unity and World Peace”.

The fifth day of the International Children’s Film Festival was filled with great joy and rejoicing with students enjoying the educational films in great number. The CMS Kanpur Road Campus was abuzz with discussions among students about the values and morals propagated in these movies. It was a thrilling experience of entertainment and education combined. After watching the educational and inspirational films, most of the children felt that the moral education period is often taken lightly in class but teaching morals and life’s values through films is indeed a novel way of imparting moral values and character building. Another student stated that after our final examinations, this is the best enjoyment for us. Our parents are also happy to have us watch such educational movies and many parents have also come to watch these movies. Some other children also expressed similar views saying that the film festival is extremely entertaining and revitalizing. We have learnt to take care of animals and be close to nature, they said. At this Children’s International Film Festival, thousands of children watched ‘Kallila & Dimna, Lucy & Toby, Seven Days in Slow Motion, Civilization, Something Left Something Taken, David and Kamal, Beta, Stories to Stay Awake, Magical Tortoise, Bade Kaam Ki Cheez, The Wolf Turned Shepherd, Eighty Letters, School is a Light House of Society, The Mahatma, Education Dream or Reality, Penalty, The Deed, The Farmer and The Robot, On the Sly, Moyana, Jiyo Ya Maro, Zimmedari, Aao Dosti Karien, One by One etc. which provided them with great fun and laughter besides an education for life.

On the 5th day of film festival, a press conference was held which was also addressed by the noted poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar. Speaking to the press personnel, Mr. Javed Akhtar expressed his hope that in future also, CMS will continue to organize such useful film festivals which create a positive impact on the tender minds of children and inspire them to have noble aims and rise above the ordinary to achieve the heights of glory and success. He congratulated the CMS family and said that such educational films will bind the children of the world with the cord of World Unity and World Peace. Praising the efforts of the CMS Founder and Chairman of the International Children’s Film Festival, Dr Jagdish Gandhi profusely, he said that through this august film festival, Dr Gandhi has left an indelible stamp of creating awareness for common social problems that afflict both children and adults today and finding amicable solutions to them.

On this occasion, renowned educationist and CMS Founder, Dr Jagdish Gandhi expressed his heartfelt thanks towards Mr. Javed Akhtar and said that the graceful presence of noted poet and lyricist Mr. Javed Akhtar has added sparkle in the event. His over-powering presence in the festival has sent message to the children that life is a struggle and we must not loose hope. On the wonderful success of the film festival, Dr Jagdish Gandhi said that the festival is creating great social awareness for children, parents and teachers which are a good sign that augurs well for the future. Speaking further, Dr Gandhi said that this children’s film festival is an inspiration not only for the children ofLucknow but for the children of UP and the whole ofIndia as well, teaching them the values of life and building their character. He said that children need proper education with life-giving values and good virtues. It is these blooming buds who are the leaders of tomorrow, so the seeds of virtue must be sown at an early age. The educational film being screened here are the most direct form of education, he said.

Present at the press conference, the festival director of ICFF-2012, Mr. V. Kurian informed that outstanding children’s films from 36 countries including USA, Argentina, Italy, Greece, Germany, Bangladesh, Serbia, Taiwan, France, Turkey, Portugal, Netherlands, Bulgaria, Spain, Belgium, UK, Israel, Pakistan, Iran, Croatia, Estonia, Russia, Japan, Canada, China, Poland, UAE, Czech Republic, Nepal, Iceland, Hong Kong, Mexico, Ireland, Belarus, Hungary and India are being screened during this ICFF-2012. He further said that the International Children’s Film Festival is free of charge for one and all and children, youth, parents, guardians and teachers of all the schools of Lucknow are welcome and invited to see children’s films on ‘first come first serve’ basis.

Chief Public Relations Officer of CMS, Mr. Hari Om Sharma said that International Children’s Film Festival is an effective way to teach value based education to the children and youth. This successfully running film festival has proved that these films have the capability to change the mentality of future generation. Good films make good human beings and bad films make bad human beings. If we wish to build a civilized and prosperous society then we have to take value based messages to the young generation through films and other audio-visual mediums. He informed that this 9-day International Children’s Film Festival is dedicated to world unity and world peace and various noted personalities are arriving here to grace this mega event. In this context, renowned film actor Mr. Raza Murad is arriving here to inaugurate the 6th day of ICFF-2012 tomorrow on Sunday, 15 April at 9.00 am at CMS Kanpur Road auditorium.

अगले लोकसभा चुनावों को मद्देनज़र रख़ते हुए सभी राजनैतिक दल मतदाताओं को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करने के तरह-तरह के फार्मूले तलाश करने लगेे हैं। कहीं लोकहितकारी उपाय अपनाए जा रहे हैं तो कहीं केवल लोकलुभावन उपायों से ही काम चलाने की कोशिश की जा रही है। कहीं विकास कार्य कराए जा रहे हैं तो कहीं अपने छोटे-मोटे कामों को ही विज्ञापनों के माध्यम से बढ़ा-चढ़ा कर पेश किया जा रहा है। और तमाम जगहों पर तो क्वपारंपारिक भारतीय राजनीतिं की शैली का अनुसरण करते हुए आश्वासनों और वादों से ही काम चलाने की कोशिश की जा रही है। इन सब के बीच हालांकि अन्ना हज़ारे जैसे समाजसेवी द्वारा राजनैतिक दलों के नेताओं को आईना दिखाने का काम ज़रूर किया जा रहा है। परंतु अन्ना की तमाम कोशिशों के बावजूद देश भविष्य में फिर भी लोकसभा व विधानसभा चुनावों से रूबरू होगा और हो न हो इन्हीं शरी$फ,ईमानदार, भ्रष्ट,महाभ्रष्ट, अपराधी,गैंगस्टर, कातिल,रेपिस्ट,चोर,बेईमान लुटेरे आदि प्रत्याशियों में से किसी न किसी एक प्रत्याशी को चुनने के लिए देश का मतदाता संभवतज् फिर मजबूर होगा। एक ओर जहां अन्ना हज़ारे जनलोकपाल की मांग को लेकर देश की जनता को लामबंद कर चुके हैं वहीं उन्होंने अब चुनाव सुधार प्रक्रिया को लेकर बड़े ही तार्किक व बुनियादी प्रश्र्न खड़े किए हैं। परंतु जब तक देश की जनता शत-प्रतिशत चुनाव सुधार $कानून से रूबरू नहीं होती उस समय तक तो आç$खरकार जनता को इसी वर्तमान चुनावी व्यवस्था को ही ढोते रहना पड़ेगा।

यही वजह है कि क्रांति अन्ना को कोई अहमियत न देते हुए देश के लगभग सभी राजनैतिक दल तथा उन राजनैतिक दलों में तमाम कथित क्वसामथ्र्यवानं नेतागण इस बात की जुगत बिठाने में लग गए हैं कि किस प्रकार प्रधानमंत्री पद पर अपना कब्ज़ा जमाया जाए। और सत्ता के इस सर्वोच्च पद को हासिल करने के लिए अब party व गठबंधन स्तर पर भी घमासान मचने लगा है। उदाहरण के तौर पर भाजपा नेता लाल कृष्ण अडवाणी ने अपनी प्रस्तावित भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी यात्रा के बहाने क्रांति अन्ना से जुड़े लोगों को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करने का प्रयास करते हुए एक बार फिर जनता को यह एहसास कराने की कोशिश की है कि 84 वर्ष की आयु में अभी भी वे पूरी तरह कुशल,सक्षम व ज़रूरत पड़ने पर देश का नेतृत्व करने की स्थिति में हैं। यह और बात है कि अडवणी की इस चाहत को न केवल राष्ट्रीय स्वयं सेवक संघ द्वारा पलीता लगा दिया गया है बल्कि गुजरात के मु यमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी भी स्वयं को प्रधानमंत्री पद के मज़बूत दावेदार समझने लगे हैं। गुजरात में विकास व भारी पूंजीनिवेश की बातें कर वे इस समय स्वयं को भाजपा का सबसे शक्तिशाली नेता मान रहे हैं। पिछले दिनों सद्भावना उपवास के नाम से मोदी ने जो क्वशों आयोजित किया तथा उस क्वशों के बाद एक महारैली आयोजित की और अब राज्य के प्रत्येक çज़ले में एक दिन का उपवास रखकर वहां के विकास की बातें करने की योजना पर काम कर रहे हैं, यह सारी $कवायद गुजरात विधानसभा चुनावों के अतिरिक्त राष्ट्रीय राजनीति से भी जुड़ी हुई हंै।

नरेंद्र मोदी के इस बढ़ते $कद तथा party स्तर पर राज्य में स्वयं किसी प्रकार के आयोजन का निर्णय लेने की उनकी शैली ने भाजपा के सभी शीर्ष नेताओं को सकते में डाल दिया है। लिहाज़ा यह सोचना कि भाजपा का शीर्ष नेतृत्व सामूहिक रूप से नरेंद्र मोदी या लाल कृष्ण अडवाणी में से किसी एक के नेतृत्व पर एकमत होगा तथा इनमें से किसी एक को party के प्रतीक्षारत प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में घोषित करेगा ऐसी उ मीद नज़र नहीं आती। और यदि यह मान भी लिया जाए कि नरेंद्र मोदी के नाम पर party में सहमति बन भी जाती है तो दूसरा सवाल यह पैदा होता है कि एनडीए के शेष घटक दल क्या नरेंद्र मोदी को प्रधानमंत्री बनाए जाने को लेकर एकमत होंगे? शायद कभी नहीं। वह इसलिए कि एनडीए के घटक दलों में शिवसेना व अकाली दल जैसे छोटे घटकों को छोड़कर शेष घटक दल इस बात पर पूरी नज़र रख़ते हैं कि भारतीय जनता party से एक हद तक ही रिश्ते बेहतर बनाए जाएं। अर्थात् केवल उस स्तर तक जहां कि एनडीए कांग्रेस से सत्ता छीन पाने में सफल हो जाए। परंतु यही घटक दल इस बात का भी पूरा ध्यान रख़ते हैं कि अडवाणी व मोदी जैसे कट्टर हिंदुत्व की छवि रखने वाले नेताओं से दूरी बनाकर रखी जाए। एनडीए के अधिकांश घटक दलों की यही विचारधारा न केवल अडवाणी को प्रधानमंत्री पद पर बैठने से रोक रही है बल्कि भविष्य में नरेंद्र मोदी के लिए भी यही समस्या निश्चित रूप से खड़ी हो सकती है। गोया अडवाणी या नरेंद्र मोदी को प्रधानमंत्री बनने के लिए अपने अकेले दम पर कम से कम 2भ्0 सीटें जीतनी होंगी तभी कहीं जाकर अडवाणी या नरेंद्र मोदी का प्रधानमंत्री बनने का सपना पूरा हो सकेगा। और भाजपा के नेता यह भलीभांति जानते हैं कि ढाई सौ के आंकड़े तक पहुंचना उनकी party व party के नेताओं के बस की बात कम से कम निकट भविष्य में तो हरगिज़ नहीं है।

उपरोक्त राजनैतिक समीकरणों से साफ है कि भाजपा के अतिरिक्त एनडीए के घटक दलों में से ही कोई और क्वसामथ्र्यवानं चेहरा प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में देश को अपनी सेवाए देने की कोशिश कर सकता है। और यदि एनडीए के अन्य घटक दलों में सबसे मज़बूत संभावित दावेदार के रूप में बिहार के मुख्यमंत्री नितीश कुमार का नाम लिया जाए तो इसमें कोई आpर्य की बात नहीं है। अडवाणी और मोदी द्वारा चली जाने वाली शतरंजी चालों की ही तरह नीतीश कुमार की पिछली कुछ राजनैतिक चालों पर गौर फरमाइए। उदाहरण के तौर पर नीतीश कुमार ने बड़ी ही प्रसन्नचित मुद्रा में स्वयं को सुशासन बाबू और विकास बाबू के नाम से परिचित कराया। वे दावा कर रहे हैं कि बिहार का विकास आज़ादी से लेकर अब तक उतना नहीं हो सका जितना कि उन्होंने अपने संक्षिप्त शासनकाल में कराया है। नितीश का नरेंद्र मोदी को भाजपा द्वारा बिहार में चुनावों में न बुलाए जाने के लिए दबाव बनाना,यह कोई नितीश व मोदी की व्यक्तिगत रंजिश का मामला नहीं था। यदि ऐसा होता तो वे एनडीए की लुधियाना रैली में नरेंद्र मोदी के साथ मंच भी सांझा नहीं करते। परंतु जहां उन्होंने लुधियाना में मोदी के साथ हाथ से हाथ मिलाकर एनडीए की एकता का प्रदर्शन किया वहीं बिहार में चुनावों के दौरान उनके प्रवेश पर आपçत्त कर तथा बिहार में आयोजित भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय स मेलन में नरेंद्र मोदी के आने पर उस स मेलन में न जाकर नितीश ने मोदी विरोधी अल्पसं यक मतों को $खुश करने की चाल चली। इतना ही नहीं नितीश कुमार ने गुजरात के मु यमंत्री द्वारा कोसी नदी के बाढ़ पीçड़तों को दी गई सहायता राशि को भी वापस कर उनसे अपना फ़ासला बनाए रखने का खुला संदेश दिया।

आç$खर क्या है इस प्रकार की अवसरवादी राजनैतिक पैंतरेबाज़ी के अर्थ? कहीं सद्भावना उपवास तो साथ-साथ टोपी न स्वीकार करने का भी प्रदर्शन? और कहीं समुदाय विशेष के मतों को आकर्षित करने के लिए किसी नेता विशेष से न$फरत करने का ढोंग? दरअसल यह सब शतरंजी चालें देश के भावी प्रधानमंत्री के पद को मद्देनज़र रख़ते हुए चली जा रही हैं। कभी देश को हिंदू राष्ट्र बनाने की कोशिश में राजनैतिक मंथन चलने लगता है तो कभी इन प्रयासों को असफल होते देख क्वसद्भावनारूपीं प्रयास शुरु कर दिए जाते हैं। और कभी इन दोनों ही $फार्मूलों के मंथन से क्वअमृतं न निकलता देखकर भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी क्वयलग़ारं की कोशिशें की जाने लगती हैं। परंतु जब इन भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी क्वराजनैतिक नायकोंं के समक्ष अन्ना हज़ारे का आईना आता है उस समय इनकी çस्थति ऐसी हो जाती है जैसे कि जंगल में नाचते हुए मोर ने अपने पांव देख लिए हों। और ऐसे में जनता को दिखाने के लिए कर्नाटक व उत्तरांचल के मु यमंत्रियों को भी बदलने के प्रयोग किए जाते हैं। परंतु कर्नाटक के रेaी बंधुओं की गिर$ तारी इन राजनैतिक प्रयोगों को गहरी ठेस पहुंचाती है।

उपरोक्त समस्त राजनैतिक परिस्थितियां उन्हीं हालात में सामने आ सकती हैं जबकि कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाली संयुक्त प्रगतिशील गठबंधन आगामी लोकसभा चुनावों में सत्ता तक पहुंचने के जादूई आंकड़ों को न छू सके। अन्यथा कांग्रेस party की ओर से तो देश को युवा प्रधानमंत्री पेश करने के रूप में राहुल गांधी की ताजपोशी की तैयारी की जा रही है। अब देखना यह होगा कि अगला लोकसभा का आम चुनाव राहुल गांधी बनाम लालकृष्ण अडवाणी होगा या राहुल बनाम नरेंद्र मोदी या फिर राहुल बनाम सुशासन बाबू अर्थात् राहुल बनाम नीतीश कुमार? और यदि उपरोक्त समीकरणों के अतिरिक्त चुनाव का समय आने तक कोई नए राजनैतिक समीकरण बने या इनमें से किसी भी नेता पर सहमति न बनी तो इस बात की भी संभावना है कि एच डी देवगौड़ा व इंद्रकुमार गुजराल की ही तरह किसी ऐसे नेता की भी लॉटरी खुल जाए जिसके नाम की अभी जनता कल्पना भी नहीं कर पा रही है। बहरहाल, यह कहना $गलत नहीं होगा कि राष्ट्रीय राजनैतिक परिदृश्य पर जो कुछ भी घटित होता दिखाई दे रहा है उसकी पृष्ठभूमि में केवल प्रधानमंत्री पद की दावेदारी ही मु य है जिसके लिए शतरंजी बिसातें बिछनी शुरु हो चुकी हैं।

मुंबई के अँधेरी वेस्ट के ”मरिम्बा लाउंज” में  गायक क्षितिज तारे का एलबम ”ऐ दोशीजा” लॉन्च किया संगीतकार व गायक सलीम मर्चेंट व लोकप्रिय गीतकार सईद कादरी ने . टाइम्स म्यूजिक द्वारा रिलीज़ किये गये इस एलबम ‘ऐ दोशीज़ा’ में ७ गीत हैं जिन्हें गाया है अपनी मधुर आवाज में गायक  क्षितिज  तारे ने. रॉक, बैले,  सूफी, हिन्दुस्तानी शास्त्रीय संगीत व क्लब मिक्स किये अलग-अलग मूड के गीत हैं इसमें. जिन्हें लिखा हैं गीतकार हैं सईद कादरी व संगीत दिया है गौरव डागांवकर ने.

एलबम लॉन्च के अवसर पर संगीत जगत की कई जानी मानी हस्तियाँ उपस्थित थी जिनमें राघव सचार, शिल्पा राव, सचिन गुप्ता, अदिति सिंह शर्मा, सुमेधा  व क्षितिज के गुरु पं. भावदीप जयपुरवाले, पं रत्तन  मोहन  शर्मा  भी उपस्थित थे.

एलबम लॉन्च से  पहले क्षितिज ने लोगों की फरमाइश पर अपने  एलबम ”ऐ दोशीजा” का शीर्षक गीत सुनाया इस गीत को सुनकर सभी लोग झूमने पर मजबूर हो गये क्योंकि क्षितिज  की मधुर आवाज ने   महफ़िल  की रौनक को दुगुना कर दिया. सलीम मर्चेंट ने क्षितिज को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि,”बहुत ही अच्छी आवाज है क्षितिज की, जैसा कि हम सभी जानते हैं इस एलबम में उन्होंने रॉक व पॉप गीत गाये हैं और वो भी बहुत ही मस्त अंदाज में.”

क्षितिज ने सलीम मर्चेंट व  सईद कादरी ने का शुक्रिया करते हुए कहा कि, ”सलीम जी व सईद कादरी दोनों ने आकर मेरी महफ़िल की रौनक को और बढा दिया है आज मैं बहुत ही खुश हूँ.”

From the banner of Ashok Motion Pictures, this film is produced by Sanju Singh and directed by M.S Bisht. Neelambri is the daughter of the former minister of Sri Lanka’s North East Provincial Council, Mr. Vardaraja Perumal’s daughter. Vardaraja Perumal was in news as he had got a threatening from LTTE and he was kept hidden due to security reasons.

Neelambri has acted in a Malyalam film “Bombay Mittai” before this. An LLB, Neelambri also acts in plays in Delhi. In “Jeet Lenge Jahaan”, she is playing the role of Saloni who is in love with Ajay.

समाजशास्त्र में पोस्ट ग्रेजुऐट पीयूष चक्रवर्ती की बतौर निर्देशक पहली फ़िल्म है ”आज भी”. लेकिन उन्होंने थियेटर में बहुत काम किया है, उन्होंने नाटकों को लिखा है उनमें अभिनय भी किया है व साथ में उन्हें निर्देशित भी किया है. इसके अलावा उन्होंने ७० से भी अधिक वृत्तचित्र और लघु फिल्मों को निर्देशित किया है. शो मैन के नाम से पहचाने जाने वाले स्व राज कपूर व स्व ऋषिकेश मुखर्जी से प्रेरणा लेने वाले पीयूष ने अपनी फ़िल्म ”आज भी” में महिलाओं पर होने वाले अत्याचारों के बारे में दिखाया है. अपनी इस फ़िल्म के बारे मे उन्होंने बताया कि, ‘मेरी यह फ़िल्म पूरी तरह से कमर्शियल फ़िल्म है लेकिन साथ में कहीं न कहीं यह फ़िल्म जिन्दगी की सच्चाई को दिखाती है और यही मेरी फ़िल्म की यू एस पी है.”

पीयूष की यह फ़िल्म ”आज ” पहली जरुर है लेकिन जिस तरह उन्होंने नये व पुराने कलाकारों को लेकर अपनी फ़िल्म बनाई है वो काबिले तारीफ़ है.

उनसे पूछने कि, उन्होंने फ़िल्म का नाम ”आज भी” ही क्यों रखा ? उन्होंने कहा कि, ”मेरी फ़िल्म की कहानी में वो सब है जो की आज हमारे समाज में हो रहा है किस तरह महिलाओं पर ”आज भी” अत्याचार हो रहे हैं, इसके अलावा ”आज भी” शब्द का  हमारे दैनिक जीवन में बहुत ही मायने रखता है.”

आई एम कलाम देख चुके फिल्म फेडरेशन के कुछ सदस्यों के अनुसार, अपनी गुणवत्ता और विश्व सिनेमा के कुछ मानकों पर खरा होने में सक्षम होने के कारण यह फिल्म ऑस्कर में भारत की एंट्री के लिए सबसे मज़बूत दावेदारों में पहले ही बेशुमार  हो गई है।

आई एम कलाम फिल्म की समीक्षा बेहद सकारात्मक और उत्साहवर्धक रही है। यह इस साल की अभी तक की सबसे बेहतरीन समीक्षित फिल्म है। समीक्षक इस बात पर एकमत हैं कि “आई एम कलाम सिनेमाई कला के दृिश्टकोण से एक बेहतरीन फिल्म है जो लोगों तक अपने सामाजिक संदेश पहुंचाने और हमारे समाज में रोल मॉडल के महत्व के पुनर्मूल्यांकन की जरूरत को जोरदार तरीके से उठाने में सफल रही है। यह एक बेहद मनोरंजन फिल्म होने के अलावा आशावादिता को भी प्रतिबिंबित करती है। आई एम कलाम बच्चों की अन्य फिल्मों की तुलना में अधिक सजीव और बेहतर है। यह फिल्म वास्तव में बच्चों के लिए एक तरह से संपूर्ण फिल्म है जिसकी अपील युवाओं में समान रूप से है।´´

बॉलीवुड में फिल्म के व्यापार से जुड़े लोग भी यह कहते थकते नहीं कि जिस फिल्म की शुरुआत  पहले दिन औसत कलेक्शन के साथ हुई थी, वह अपनी विशयवस्तु और सकारात्मक संदेश के कारण सप्ताहांत में बड़ी संख्या में दशzकों को आकिशzत करने में सफल रही। यहां तक कि कुछ मल्टीप्लेक्स में हाउसफुल भी देखा गया। आई एम कलाम ने पहले ही अपनी लागत वसूल ली है और बॉक्स ऑफिस पर यह ठीक ठाक हिट फिल्मों में ‘ाुमार होने की राह पर अग्रसर है। आई एम कलाम मुनाफा कमाने के मामले में चलो मुसड्डी ऑफिस ऑफिस से बेहतर प्रदशzन कर रही है, जबकि फिल्म का निर्माण कम बजट में हुआ और देशभर में इसे सिर्फ 125 स्क्रीनों पर ही रिलीज किया गया। फिर भी यह समीक्षा के मामले में पिछले सप्ताह रिलीज होने वाली फिल्मों में सबसे आगे रही। कमाई के मामले में यह फिल्म भविश्य में भी बेहद अहम साबित होगी।

फिल्म की सफलता यह साबित करती है कि अच्छे कंटेंट वाली छोटी फिल्में भी काफी लोकप्रिय हो सकती हैं और स्माइल फाउंडेशन ने बॉलीवुड को यह दिखा दिया है कि बड़े कलाकारों के बगैर और कम प्रचार के बावजूद एक छोटी फिल्म किस तरह से सफल हो सकती है।

फुटबॉल के बेताज बादशाह मैसी 30 अगस्त को भारत की सरजमीं पर कदम रख रहे हैं और सोचिए अर्जेंटीना के इस स्टार के लिए बॉलीवुड का क्या तोहफा हो सकता है? ये तोहफा है मैसी के आगमन के ठीक 4 दिन पहले फुटबॉल पर आधारित एक फिल्म। यह फिल्म देश में फुटबॉल को बदतर हालत में पहुंचाने वाली राजनीति पर केंद्रित है, जिससे अंतररष्ट्रीय स्तर पर हम पीछे चले गए हैं। मैसी का भारत आना और इसी समय फुटबॉल पर आधारित फिल्म का रिलीज होना, फुटबॉल प्रेमियों के लिए दोहरा तोहफा है। फुटबॉल की अंदरूनी राजनीति पर केंद्रित फिल्म स्टैंडबाई 26 अगस्त को रिलीज हो रही है।

Based on the famous coffee table book ‘Har Ghar Kuchh Kehta Hai’, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister would inaugurate Shimla Heritage Museum on 6th August, 2011 at U.S. Club, Shimla. The purpose of establishment of the heritage museum is to increase the stay of tourists visiting Shimla and acquaint them with the popular & prevalent history & heritage of Shimla town, said Dr. Arun Kumar Sharma, Director, Tourism & Civil Aviation here today.

He further said that the department has started Shimla City Tour in association with Tourism Industry Stakeholders Welfare Society, Shimla and the museum would be the base for heritage walk in the city also. In future the heritage tour would be started from US Club. In the museum one can take the glimpse of Town Hall, Viceregal Lodge, Post Office, Gaiety Theatre, Vidhan Sabha, Barnes Court, Rippon Hospital, Combermere Bridge, Gorton Castle etc., he added.

Built in 1860 from stone and timber, the Town Hall represents typical European architecture, housed the Municipal Corporation offices. Being a best example of Imperial City planning, the sober yet architecturally magnificent, Town Hall was built on a commanding ridge at the confluence of the grounds of the ridge and the Mall.

The building of the General Post Office, Shimla, the oldest post office of Northern India was constructed in 1882 and earlier known as the Conny Cottage. Mr. F. Dalton Is supposed to be its first Post Master and Mr. L.G. Pigott was the last English Post Master till December, 1946 and Mr. A.K. Hazari was the first Post master of Indian Origin in 1947. Before the establishment of rail or road links with Shimla, mail was sent through a special “dak gari” from Ambala to Kalka. It was further transported by postal employees using horses, ponies and even elephants.

Gaiety Theatre : Built in 1887, this five storey building which was amongst the tallest buildings of its times was inaugurated in 1888 and served as a major place of entertainment for the Anglo-Indian society as it housed a stage for Shimla Amateur Dramatic Club. Built in stone, with artistically shaped windows, doors, lintels and openings, it also possessed boxes, galleries, beautiful paintings and sculptures. It was one of its kind in Asia during that period.

Viceregal Lodge: Constructed during the Viceroyalty of Lord Dufferin during 1884-1888 by architect Henry Irwin, this building with Neo-Gothic architecture was the first building to have electric lighting in Shimla. This building, spread over 123 acres has been a witness to several historic moments. It was the venue of Shimla Conference in 1945 and it was here that the decision of partition of India was taken in 1947. After Independence in 1947, the building became the property of the President of India and was renamed Rashtrapati Niwas. Now it houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.

The Combermere Bridge across a chasm and the water tank on the hill above were built at the behest of Lord Combermere, the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1828. This tank located at the site of the present day Indira Gandhi Sports Complex was the primary source of water before piped water was introduced to the city.

A delegation from the Ministry of Information & Culture, Government of Afghanistan, called on Secretary (I&B), Shri Raghu Menon here today. Headed by Dr. Mobarez Rasheidi, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Information & Culture, the delegation’s visit comes in the backdrop of the “Memorandum of Understanding on Information and Broadcasting sectors” signed between the two countries in May this year.

During the discussions, Secretary (I&B), Shri Raghu Menon, assured all possible help from the Ministry to the Government of Afghanistan in areas of capacity development, technical expertise in running infrastructural projects in the broadcasting sector and training for journalists at IIMC.

On the issue of providing technical expertise in the broadcasting and information sectors, Shri Menon stated that the Ministry could provide technical expertise by sending professionals to Afghanistan to draw policy initiatives in critical areas. During the discussions, a detailed overview of the policy initiatives undertaken by this Ministry was also put before the visiting delegation.

Dr. Mobarez Rashedi, in his remarks, gave a detailed account of the initiatives of the Government of India which benefited Afghanistan in the recent past. He specifically mentioned the State of Art studio for Radio and Broadcast facilities which had been set up by the Government of India at Jalalabad. He appreciated the help provided by the Government of India in facilitating the up-linking and down-linking facilities via INSAT 3-A to radio and TV national broadcasters in Afghanistan.

During the discussions, the Afghanistan delegation also apprised Secretary (I&B) regarding the work-plan that was under consideration for taking forward the broad agreement reached with the Government of India in May this year.

The Deputy Minister also visited Press Information Bureau (PIB) and met the Principal Director General (M&C) Smt Neelam Kapur. The experiences regarding information dissemination and publicity was discussed at length during the meeting. PIB promised to offer all the necessary assistance for providing training to the Afghan Government Information Department Officials.

The Deputy Minister was accompanied by Dr Zareen Anzoor, DG, Radio TV, Afghanistan, Dr Nejeebullah Bayan, Head of Internal News, Bakhtar News Agency, Government of Afghanistan and other senior officials.

The MoU signed between the two countries in May covers a wide range of issues. Prominent being policy and strategy development, project management, financial management and procurement processes. The focus of the MoU is on capacity development covering critical areas which are as follows:

• Development of media policies and strategies.

• Development of independent and free press in Afghanistan.

• Identification of areas of reforms and restructuring in the field of press and media and implementation thereof.

• Development and standardization of media related programmes, graphic designing, production of documentaries and films and other related areas.

• Production and broadcasting activities of Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) including content management.

• Marketing of TV and Radio programmes for revenue generation.

A range of activities have been conducted by the Ministry in Afghanistan. These include: training by Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) to various Afghan Journalists. Annually IIMC is training several Afghan journalists sent by the Indian Embassy Kabul. India in the recent past has helped build the full fledged Radio And Television Afghanistan (RTA) Stations at Jalalabad Afghanistan. As part of the capacity building technical process, India is also providing satellite uplinking facilities for the state owned television RTA. BECIL representatives in Afghanistan have earlier helped on various projects to RTA. A process has also been initiated to facilitate the flow of films from India into Afghanistan.

In order to optimally utilize available slots on DD Direct Plus platform and maximize its revenue, Prasar Bharti today conducted an e-auction for the available slots on its DTH platform. The purpose of the e-auction was to select the channels on DD Direct Plus Platform in a transparent and objective manner. Conducted through e-tender process, the entire mechanism was facilitated by M/s NCDEX SPOT Mumbai, the agency selected for conducting the proceedings.

Prior to conducting the e-auction mechanism, Doordarshan undertook a detailed exercise to fine tune the mechanism to suit the professional requirements. It issued letters to all the channels who had applied to be placed on DD Direct Plus DTH platform and all those existing channels on DD Direct Plus platform that were completing their Annual Agreements upto 30th June 2011, inviting them to participate in the auction process by submitting a Bank Guarantee of Rs.1.5 crore within 15 days of the issuance of the letter. Open public Notices were issued in leading National News Paper on an all India level. Thirty seven channels applied with a Bank Guarantee of Rs 1.5 Crore and necessary Downlinking/Uplinking permissions from Ministry of I & B . Out of the 37 channels, 32 participated in the final e-auction process.

As part of the orientation, the channels were given thorough training and also participated in a series of mock auctions to give them complete familiarity with the process. Each service provider was issued individual IDs and passwords to all the channels to enable them to log onto the defined website to participate in the closed e-auction process using their unique Digital Signatures. Through the auction, 21 successful bids have been received ranging from Rs 2.17 crore to Rs 2.25 crore. All 21 vacant slots on DD’s DTH platform have been auctioned through this transparent e-auction process.

The bidding details that have been received from different channels as per the price bands are as follows:

• Rs. 2.25 cr- Sadhana News (Uttarakhand/Himachal), Aastha Bhajan, B4U Movies, Sanskar.

• Rs. 2.22 cr- RK News (Sadhana), Sahara Samay.

• Rs. 2.21 cr-Enter 10 music, TV 24, Day& Night News.

• Rs.2.20 cr- B4U Music, Time TV, Divya, Katiani.

• Rs. 2.19 cr-Sahara Aalmi (Urdu), Sahara Firangi.

• Rs. 2.18 cr-Zee Salaam, Zee Smile, Etc music, 9X, Zee Jagran.

• Rs. 2.17cr-Enter 10 Movies.

As per the computation by Prasar Bharti under the given e-auction process, it is expected that revenue earned from today’s auction will be more than Rs.46 crores. It may be mentioned, that prior to this e-auction process, Doordarshan was earning Rs.16.8 crores @ Rs.80 lakhs per channel.

The e-auction process initiated today was approved in the 103rd meeting of the Prasar Bharati Board held recently. As on date, there are 59 channels on DD Direct Plus bouquet, of which 19 are Doordarshan channels (including Lok Sabha).
