Threat to Historical Buildings

The Minister for Culture and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja has said that there are only two centrally protected monuments viz. Golconda Fort and Charminar located in Hyderabad.

She said, as per the preliminary map supplied by Larsen & Toubro Limited, Golconda Fort is shown far from Hyderabad Metro Rail Line Project. The exact distance of Rail line from Charminar, is not clear. Further, whether this project is to be constructed underground or overground is not yet finalized. Under the situation, it is not possible to comment on the impact of metro line on monument i.e. Charminar.
