Timex launches a new youth brand “Helix” for today’s unconventional Gen Y’

World’s leading watchmaker Timex Group India Limited has ventured into youth fashion watch segment by launching hip and stylishly smart timepieces under the brand name “HELIX”. The new brand was launched in the capital by the trendy and young Bollywood diva Kangana Ranaut along with Mr VD Wadhwa, Managing Director, Timex Group India Limited and Giorgio Galli, Head of Global Design Centre, Timex Group who has designed this collection.

Designed by internationally acclaimed designer Giorgio Galli at his design centre based out of Milan the HELIX range reflects the aspirations and desire of today’s youth who wish to stand out in a crowd. The collection is in sync with the latest fashion trends and is the perfect statement for hip and happening youngsters.

Specially designed for the contemporary and tech-savvy youth, the collection incorporates state-of-the-art technology and precision engineering that are hallmarks of Timex. The first set of collection launched under the brand HELIX consists of several families – Fusion, Shield, Stunt and Hook targeted at both young men and women in the age group of 19-24. The collections are designed basis the latest international trends and design concepts. Over the coming few months there will be a no. of more families being added to the collection and the range will be invigorated with some young and trendy styles. The watches are priced between Rs 1400 – Rs 2400 and would be available initially in the key metros of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Speaking at the launch, Mr VD Wadhwa, Managing Director of Timex Group India Ltd said, – “Timex has been long been associated with youth and technology and is now targeting the fashion segment through the launch of “HELIX”. The brand is targeted to the youth who love to explore new avenues, are fashionable and believe in accessorizing. The entire collection is designed keeping in mind the latest International trends. We expect HELIX to help us further strengthen our portfolio of brands and also significantly contribute to the business growth of Timex Group in India.”

Sharing his views Mr Giorgio Galli said “It gives me great pleasure to be associated with a brand like Timex and now with HELIX. It’s been great fun designing these watches and truly celebrate the passion and spirit of the youth today which strives to achieve everything in their lives. I find the new collection to be enthralling as it encompasses the spirit of Gen X and Gen Y.”

The young and beautiful Kangana Ranaut said, “I completely identify with the brand as it displays an unmatched youthful attitude combined with an amazing sense of style.
