Cotton Exports will not Exceed 55 Lakh Bales – Dayanidhi Maran

Thiru Dayanidhi Maran, Textiles Minister has indicated that not a single bale more than the 55 lakh bales already approved for exports would be allowed to be exported. Thiru Maran said this while laying the foundation stone for Erode Powerloom Mega Cluster at Erode, Tamil Nadu today. Pointing out that the exorbitantly increasing cotton prices are harming the domestic textile Industry as a whole, he has assured that the Ministry of Textiles would make all out efforts to protect the domestic industry.

Thiru Maran today laid the foundation stone for a massive Textile marketing complex under the comprehensive Powerloom Cluster scheme administered by the Ministry of Textiles. For this Mega cluster the Government of India has sanctioned Rs. 70 crore as subsidy.
