The action continued at the Talkatora Stadium and at Modern School in Barakhamba on the second day of the 61st IMG-Reliance National Basketball Championship in Delhi. Reigning champions of both the men’s and women’s divisions, Indian Railways continued to dominate all opponents. Hosts Delhi boys and girls also got off to a good start.
For their second game on Wednesday morning, the Indian Railways women’s squad dominated a hapless Karnataka team 94-45. Railways men also got into the act, as they trounced Karnataka men 111-55, led by Gagan Deep Singh (26) and Vishesh Bhriguvanshi (18 points).
Delhi teams also continued their hot start to this tournament. On Tuesday evening, Delhi women had defeated Punjab women 75-21. On Wednesday, Delhi faced UP, whom they also easily defeated 76-42, led by the sister-duo of Prashanti Singh (21) and Pratima Singh (17). Swarni Singh (16) and Rajana Singh (16) were the high scorers for UP.
Punjab men had an easy ride against neighbours Chandigarh on Wednesday morning, winning 68-28. Punjab were led by Amrit Pal Singh (21) and internationally experienced guard Talwinder Singh (17).
