हाली मैं किशोर पिल्लै का उपन्यास ”एम्बीशन कर्स” लॉन्च हुआ. किशोर के इस उपन्यास से पहले ”प्लेन स्पीक” शीर्षक से एक कविता संग्रह भी प्रकाशित हुआ था. जिसकी बहुत ही सराहना की थी पाठको व समाचार पत्रों ने. पहले कविता संग्रह और बिल्कुल उसके बाद रोंगटे खड़े कर देने वाली मर्डर मिस्ट्री लिखने की कोई खास वजह पूछने पर किशोर पिल्लै ने कहा कि, ” क्राइम और मर्डर मिस्ट्री हमेशा से मुझे पसंद रही है, मैंने शेरलोक्क होल्मस और कोनन डोयले को खूब पड़ा है, ‘एम्बीशन कर्स” लिखने की प्रेरणा भी मुझे यही से मिली.”
किशोर जो कि मार्केटिंग प्रोफ़ेसर हैं, ने यह रोमांचक पुस्तक लिखी है, वो अपनी इस पुस्तक पर आधारित एक फिल्म भी बनाना चाहते है. अपने उपन्यास ”एम्बीशन कर्स” के बारें में किशोर बताते हैं कि ”यह उपन्यास पूरी तरह से काल्पनिक है, युवा कलाकार नीता, जो कि दुर्भाग्यवश पेशेवर ईर्ष्या का शिकार होती है, और उसकी नृशंस हत्या हो जाती है.” जीवन के कुछ अनुभवों को भी आपने अपने इस उपन्यास में लिखा है, के जवाब में उन्होंने कहा कि, ” नहीं यह पूरी तरह से काल्पनिक उपन्यास है, बस एक शूट आउट की घटना को मैंने इसमें लिखा है जो कि कुछ समय पहले चेन्नई में हुई थी.
1971 में जन्में किशोर ने केरल के कोल्लम से अपनी स्कूली शिक्षा की. किशोर को 1986 में राष्ट्रीय प्रतिभा खोज छात्रवृत्ति भी मिली. उन्होंने 1988 में राज्य इंजीनियरिंग प्रवेश परीक्षा में चौथा स्थान हासिल किया और अर्थशास्त्र विषय में केरल विश्वविद्यालय से बी.ए. किया, बी ए के परीक्षा परिणाम में उन्हें दूसरा नंबर मिला. किशोर ने आई आई एम कोलकाता से एम बी ए किया और वर्ष 1994-2000 के दौरान समूह श्रीराम , IMRB, एनएफओ-MBL (वर्तमान में टीएनएस भारत) और अरविंद ब्रांड्स लिमिटेड के साथ एक कंपनी की अधिकारी के रूप में काम किया. किशोर ने फिर 2000 में अमेरिका की फ्लोरिडा स्टेट यूनिवर्सिटी से मार्केटिंग में डॉक्टरेट करने के लिए अपनी यह नौकरी छोड़ दी.
पहले लिखी कवितायें और फिर यह मर्डर मिस्ट्री उपन्यास, इसके बाद अब नया क्या लिख रहें हैं ? किशोर बताते हैं ”गैब्रियल मर्क़ुएज़, इटालो काल्विनो, मिलन कुंद्रा, विक्रम सेठ और एर्नेस्ट हेमिंगवे को मैंने बहुत पड़ा है. अल्बर्ट कामुस का तो मैं बहुत बड़ा प्रशंसक हूँ, उनके
