Brazilian Minister for Agrarian Development calls on Dr. C.P.Joshi India and Brazil to share experience in areas of Rural Development

Brazilian Minister for Agrarian Development Mr. Guilherme Cassel called on Union Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Minister Dr. C.P. Joshi today. The visiting dignitary expressed his country’s desire to share experiences in areas of Rural Development.
Welcoming his counter part Dr. Joshi said both the countries have varied experience and such an exercise will further enhance bilateral cooperation. Dr. Joshi highlighted the importance of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA and explained how it has brought a change in the lives of rural poor in India by ensuring their economic empowerment. He also shared how it has contributed to a rise in the purchasing power of the people and helped in emancipation of rural women.
The two leaders shared pleasantries among each other and discussed areas of mutual interest in enhancing bilateral co-operation in the field of rural development..
