Home Secretary ,Chandigarh visits GMSS Manimajra

To impart education and awareness on the moral values, fundamental rights and duties, Personal hygiene, eating habits among the students, Ram Niwas, Secretary Education, Chandigarh Administration visited the Government Model Senior Secondary School Manimajra, to have an interaction with the students and teachers

During the conversation the Home Secretary apprised the students to adopt one of the heritage buildings in Chandigarh to protect it for the coming generation  as a part of their syllabus therefore Secretary encouraged them to take on any tourist spot or heritage site , and set examples for other schools to follow. He also threw light on the existing cultural diversity and rich heritage in India. The students enjoyed the interaction and also shared their vision with the Home Secretary. He also encouraged them to grow more trees and keep the surrounding and environment neat and clean and fresh. The students were also asked to protect the government properties meant for the public usage. The children were also made aware about the  intake of  nutrition and healthy food and refraining junk and aerated drinks that harm the body and mind and advised them to imbibe the moral values at this young age that help to become a good  future citizen.

With the participation of more than 1000 students and 50 staff members, the Home Secretary also administered them oath for anti drug and advised them to avoid computer games, mobile phones and junk food .He further asked them to read one newspaper daily and to watch a good and informative news channel.

According to the Secretary Education “The basic purpose of visiting the schools is to interact with the students who are on threshold of entering into the new phase of life and childhood is the right stage to inculcate the best of values in a child, which will help them in future to become a good citizen indeed”.
